It was no different at Halla, as we filled our first Fiji rum barrels with this - still unflavored - Imperial Stout. Of course, we did not leave the strength of the barrel to chance: our midnight-colored beer matured in the wooden barrel for more than a year, a total of 14 months, before we took it out.
That is why such an exciting end result was possible, as the spicy, funky, powerful flavors that are typical of Fiji rums also show a whole new face to the roasted barley and chocolate flavors known from stouts.
